Dr. Charles came on Mon. June 22- Dad has to have a chest scan in addition to his biopsy on Tuesday June 23. If the biopsy is early enough, he may be able to leave tomorrow, but it will most likely be Wednesday. Here's the catch. If the biopsy shows it's a clear cell, he'll be able to have immunotherapy. If it's not a clear cell, the treatment won't work. Treatment is proven successful in about 1 out of 2 patients (45% was his statement). We need to find an oncologist in Cookeville & get an appointment for Monday or Tuesday (so they'll have the biopsy results back) so they can schedule treatment. Dr. Charles said there are 4 medical oncologists in Cookeville & 2 in Crossville. We just have to choose the right oncologist if the results come back- clear. He is in good spirits and keeps saying he’s good and doesn’t want to be on life support. They are letting one of us be with him. We are rotating out and trying FaceTime when we can. He says he knows he's saved! God makes all the difference!
