After heavy rains in both Malawi and northern Tete Province, Mozambique, torrents of floodwater washed from upriver into Tete City during the middle of the night on March 8. Where the smaller Rovubue River met up with the larger and already swollen Zambezi River, there was nowhere for the water to go. A huge area flooded, causing massive destruction to more than 1,300 households and the Rovubue River bridge. Many were caught completely off guard as they were sleeping, and the water rushed in quickly, killing more than 60 people. Baptist Global Response and local believers were able to help with sanitation needs in the temporary camp immediately after the flood. Please pray that local churches will continue to minister to the victims of these floods. Pray that the hope and love of Jesus will be shared in the resettlement area where some who lost their homes will be relocated.
Thank you all for your prayers thus far. My girls grandma, Jean, (my 1st husbands mother) was taken off the ventilator today and they are just managing her comfort. I pray for an easy and peaceful passing. I also pray for my father-in-law, he is really struggling. They’ve been together for so long and through a lot with loosing their only son over 5 years ago. Her health has declined since then. I know she is going to have a new body soon and I’m so thankful for that. I pray for understanding with my youngest Bailey because she still seems to struggle with loosing her dad. Thank you.
Ramadan, the Muslim holy month of fasting, began on the evening of May 5. During this month, Muslims around the world abstain from food and water from sunrise to sunset. Ramadan is one of Islam’s 'Five Pillars' of the faith. Pray that the Holy Spirit will give those who fast a true spiritual hunger satisfied only in Christ himself. Pray that many will see the Son and believe.
Praise - our church planting retreat was amazing. Our kids got to be with a hundred other kids of parents doing the same work. They realized they weren’t alone and loved it. Matthew from small group was baptized. Pray - more boldness in everyday conversations, Friday may 10 another neighborhood party in front of our home, development of our Pioneer Church leadership team and core team. Energy, strength, provision, and salvation for the many non believers we see daily.

Praise!! Carol Haney was recently diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. Her oncologist told her today, there is nothing there to treat. There is no cancer! She asked me to thank everyone at The River for all the prayers. God heard them!!

Praise- my mom came off the ventilator on Easter Sunday and has been doing much better. Please pray for her rehab to go well and that she is able to stay away from hospitals for a long time once she is released. Praise: Logan starts his new job May 13! He needs continued prayer as we hope for his return to church and that he would listen to God's voice. Continued prayers are appreciated- Mitchell is now bedridden and unable to be moved. He's declined very rapidly in the past two weeks, now unable to feed himself and communicate much. I am frustrated that I want to become a pastor for the vets but to become one you have to be ordained. The schools are too costly and far away. I can't move because i take care of someone and no one else is there to help.
My fiance's grandma and papa passed away Friday and Saturday. The whole family is taking it hard.

Pray that the Turks in Italy will have a hunger for truth, and that they will exchange the burdens of religion for Jesus Christ who IS the truth. Pray that mission organizations will boldly reach out to the Turks. Pray that many Turks will be discipled in Italy, and that they will bring the truth back to Turkey.
The Antesaka (pronounced an-tay-SOCK-ah) of Madagascar are an unengaged and unreached people group living along the southeast coast of the island and numbering well over a million. Their primary practiced religion is ethnic religion. Because ethnic religion is so deeply rooted in ethnic identity, conversion to Christianity is very hard for the Antesaka. Please pray that God will draw the Antesaka to himself and that the Antesaka will desire to be identified with Christ.
