Prayer for my mom and my brothers. Dr's will be turning off life support Friday morning. They've stopped all care except for comfort care. I pray that God take her before Fri and end her suffering. My dear friend, Carol Haney, has stage four lung cancer. She is having a very hard time now. She has moved in with her brother-in-law so he can take care of her. She, and I, would greatly appreciated prayers for her. Thank you
Praise: My mom was able to come off the ventilator on Easter Sunday. She has since been able to go back to a regular hospital room (instead of CCU). She has a few weeks of recovery in a hospital or a rehabilitation facility ahead of her. Pray for the recovery process to go well and for my mom to get away from the in & out hospital cycle she has been in.
As we process the news of attacks on Easter services in Sri Lanka, our hearts are grieved. We weep with those who weep. Over 200 people are confirmed dead and hundreds more injured over the course of eight bombings. We are reminded that the devil is like a roaring lion seeking those he may devour (1 Peter 5:8). However, we stand firm, knowing that the devil does not win. The victory has been won. The light of the world has come and the darkness will not overcome it. Today as we reflect on the living hope we have through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead (1 Peter 1:3), let us not forget to stay prepared for opposition and continue incessantly in prayer. Let us run this race hard with our brothers and sisters in Christ and intercede for one another and for the lost. Please pray for those who have lost family members to be comforted by the God of all comfort. Please pray for those who are injured to receive needed care. Please pray for those who can't find family to be reconnected. Please pray for believers to be the hands and feet of Christ and to pour forth a sweet aroma. Hearts are hurting. Pray that God will use this situation to draw men and women, boys and girls to himself . . . for his honor and glory.
Please pray for my parents, Gary & Gail Kailbourne in Statesville, NC. Last Wednesday, mom fell in the shower & cut her head open. 8 staples. I spoke with her this morning and she took another fall yesterday and had to have more stitches. My dad fell last month from a ladder - no treatment, but he cut his head open as well. Pray for encouragement for their spirits as they are both grieving the fact that they just can't do what they used to do. She is a counselor, dad is retired, and they are 78 & 72 respectively. It's hard to not feel discouraged. Thanks for praying.
Praise - Our neighbors came over for Easter lunch and heard more about Jesus. A guy in our small group surrendered to Christ and will be baptized next Sunday.

Please continue praying for my mother. She has been on a ventilator for a week now. Many of her vitals have slowly but steadily improved. The biggest issue now is getting her out of sedation and off the ventilator. The hospital wants to have her off the ventilator by the weekend, if this doesn't happen they think it will be necessary to move her to a facility that specializing in weaning people off of life support. It may also be necessary to perform a tracheotomy. Pray that mom comes off of the ventilator soon and does well through the process, and especially pray that a tracheotomy is not needed as it will be a big infection risk with my mother's Lupus.
